stitches @ 09:32 am

We went to the ER yesterday because Avery cut his head open again.  It was really sad :(  My mom was watching the boys to give me a break to get some reading done for school and she calls me 2 hours later to say that I should meet her at the ER.  I get there and we were there FOREVER, ok it was only 4 hours, but still... Anyway, he got 3 stitches and was pretty good for it (meaning he screamed the entire time) but at least while we were waiting he was really good, I was impressed.  Luckily I had a dinosaur, a train and crayons in my purse ( I left all the books in the car, grrr) Anyway, they swaddled him like a baby to get the stitched in, there was also a towel over his head to protect his eyes.  That was what really bothered him.  He just kept repeating, "I can't see you mama!"  I tried to reaassure him that I was there, I never stopped talking/singing to him, but he was still really scared.  He also was calling the doctor "Teacher"  He was saying, "Teacher, I don't want you to touch my head anymore."  It was really sweet, but sad.  Finally we wre done and went to Chuck E Cheese's to "celebrate"  AVery and Finn had an awesome time, they both loved all the $.25 games :)  Finn was a little overwhelmed by all the lights and music, but loved it just the same.  W

When we were getting ready for bed, Avery asked to see his owie, so we looked at it and cried because it had "hair" in it.  I assured him that it was just like thread for sewing :)  He's better today :)

sewing and babies @ 07:20 pm

I really want this pattern, but I think I can figure it out on my own.  That might take some effort though...

In other news a dear friend of mine is pregnant after 2 1/2 years of trying and she's doing her second home birth.  Her first home birth was an 11 pounder :)  I'm stoked!  Annnnd... my other good friend is due on Saturday she went drugless last time and wishes to again :)  Her little one is a girl named Olivia, I can't wait to meet her!

Ok enough with the babies.

We had Finn's 1st birthday party yesterday, we had a great time, except Griffin didn't tell me until 5 days before the party that he had military duty that day, so he missed it. And his military "annual tour" (3 weeks of military duty) happens to be 2 weeks in June, so he'll miss Avery's birthday too ( he missed mine and Avery's last year too)  Oh well!  At least he's not in Iraq.  I'm still recovering from the party.

Teething @ 08:05 pm

Finn got in 2 molars today and has an ear infection :( I only took him to the doctor because his temp was 103 and not slowing down. I knew that was too high for just teething. They gave me an rx for antibiotics, but I didn't pick them up. Instead I did garlic/mullen oil and olive oil drops. I haven't been able to get any breastmilk out to put in there yet, but I will soon (note to self: must go pump-DO IT!) The drops helped tremendously. Anyway, I feel so sorry for this little guy. Avery was never sick and in fact got his first ear infection last October at almost 3 1/2. I don't know why Finn is sick so much, it makes me sad to know that my breastmilk isn't doing the trick this time around :(
